Lost River, Oregon

The Lost River originates in northern California, flows north into Oregon and disappears back into Tule Lake in California. During its journey, the Lost River is heavily used for irrigation and flow in the basin is supplemented by water from Upper Klamath Lake.  A complex system of canals, drains, and pumps regulates the flow of water in and around the Lost River. MaxDepth Aquatics was contracted to provide data on the aquatic plant growth at a number of sites throughout the length of the river (report). The information regarding plant species composition, plant biomass, nutrient content of the plants, and light extinction were compiled into a database for use by water quality modelers with Tetra Tech, Inc. to simulate conditions in the river.
